Plain-language policies for Anvil. We've kept them short and honest — because when the product collects nothing, the privacy policy is easy to write.
Anvil runs entirely on your device. It has no user accounts and no cloud service. Everything you enter — trades, notes, screenshots, settings — is saved in the app's local storage on your machine and never leaves it. The app makes zero network requests; a strict Content-Security-Policy blocks it from connecting to any server, so your data cannot be sent to us or anyone else, even by accident.
Because we never receive your data, we cannot see it, sell it, share it, lose it in a breach, or hand it to anyone. Backups are files you create and control. If you uninstall the app or clear its storage, your data is gone from your device and we have no copy.
Our marketing site is deliberately minimal. It does not set advertising or tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard, short-lived server access logs (e.g., IP address and requested page) for security and reliability, as is normal for any website. We don't build profiles from them.
Purchases are processed by our third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record. To complete a sale they collect the information needed to process payment and deliver your license (such as your name, email, and billing details) under their own privacy policy. We receive limited order information (for example, your email and order ID) to deliver your download, provide support, and honor refunds. We do not receive your full card details.
If you email us (for feedback or support), we receive whatever you choose to send. We use it only to respond and improve the product.
Since the app holds no data on our side, most data-subject requests concern only your purchase record. To ask about, or request deletion of, information tied to your order, email privacy@anviljournal.com.
By purchasing, downloading, or using Anvil (the "Software"), you agree to these terms. The Software is provided by WealthForge LLC ("we," "us").
When you buy Anvil, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Software on devices you own or control, for your own trading journaling. It's a one-time purchase — no subscription. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, rent, or share your license key, or attempt to reverse-engineer or circumvent the Software except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
We retain all rights, title, and interest in the Software, its design, and its trademarks. Your trading data is yours — it stays on your device and we claim no rights to it.
Your purchase includes updates and patches within the same major version (v2.x). A future major version (v3) may be offered as a separate purchase; your existing version keeps working regardless.
Anvil is a journaling and analytics tool for informational purposes only. Its metrics, scores, insights, and prop-firm rule tracking are estimates derived from the data you enter and must not be relied upon as financial, investment, or trading advice. Prop-firm calculations in particular are estimates from your logged trades and may not reflect your firm's live account — always confirm against your firm's official dashboard. Trading involves substantial risk of loss. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions and outcomes.
The Software is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any trading losses, lost profits, or lost data, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Software. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Software. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Back up your data regularly — you are responsible for your own backups.
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy. We may update these terms; the current version lives at this page.
